The Hope Pole Inn is our next pick in the Pubs by the River series. This good old fashioned classic boozer in Limpley Stoke serves simple pub grub alongside a range of beers.

It’s a favourite watering hole amongst the locals and a hot spot for the canal enthusiast. Free from being “gastrified” into a pub-come-restaurant, the Hop Pole is instead a classic English pub focusing on good beer and hearty food.

The Hop Pole Inn is located just along the canal tow path past The George. You can easily access it by boat from the Dundas Aqueduct, or drive around 5 minutes from the cottages along the B3108 or around 15 minutes from the city centre apartments via the A36. No booking required but to chat to the team call 01225723321.

Address: Woods Hill, Limpley Stoke, Woods Hill BA2 7FS
