Throughout October, Bath BID and The Great Bath Feast have teamed up to present the ‘Bath Bites Trail’, aiming to showcase a range of delicious grub from the city’s best hospitality.

You can explore the virtual map that will guide you around Bath’s best bites online here, or download the map here. It’s not to be missed if you’re staying at one of our cottages this October, especially if you love good food!

From “Local Specialities” like Bath Chaps at The Garrick’s Head, made from the lower part of pig’s cheeks and a winner if you like cured bacon, and the classic Bath Bun at the Bath Bun Tea Shoppe or a cinnamon bun at Sally Lunn’s, to Main Meal favourites like steak with surf and turf for two at Browns and steak and ale pies at Coeur de Lion, there’s lots to explore.

Personally, you shouldn’t miss Noya’s Kitchen, who are showcasing An’s Vietnamese Chicken Curry, a moreish dish of chicken cooked in coconut milk, lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves. Just talking about it has got my stomach rumbling!

Le Vignoble Bath, in Milsom Place.

Wine fans should take advantage of tapas at Le Vignoble, a wine bar tucked away in Milsom Place just off the high street, which has its own enomatic wine machine for you to taste a range of sample bottles.

Pizza lovers have an abundance of choice with cracking pizzas from Bath Pizza Co, The Oven and Dough Pizza.

Perhaps most exciting is Bath Bites’ list of Light Bites, where you can find some real foodie treats. In this list are diver-caught scallops at the lauded Scallop Shell on Monmouth Place, taco dosas at Bandook, or cheesy garlic bread at The Stable. Although what’s really after my heart is the oysters at the newly opened Portofino Oyster Bar and Fish Restaurant. A few of those and a glass of Champagne sounds the perfect holiday treat.

And don’t forget your puds! There’s clotted cream tea at Hands Georgian Tearooms, endless options of dreamy gelato at Swoon, or an indulgent double chocolate cookie sandwich at Mrs Potts Chocolate House.

Actually, thinking about it, you’re going to need a good few days trekking around Bath enjoying all these delights, so it’s a good thing the promotion is on throughout October. Don’t miss out!
