Accessible via the Kennet & Avon Canal and our local pub (if you’re staying at one of our cottages) is the Wheelwright Arms. Although not sitting on the water, it’s a lovely walk along the tow path from the canal and through the countryside to the pub. Reward yourself for the extra bit of effort with the Wheelwrights delicious, home-cooked food and real ales.
It’s not just any food either, the Wheelwright Arms has had mentions in both the Michelin Guide and the Trencherman Guide as one of the best restaurant-come-pub destinations in Bath. It’s run by David Munn in a picturesque hamlet on the outskirts of the Monkton Combe village. There is also a small, secluded garden space for eating outdoors.
The Wheelwright Arms is a busy, foodie’s pub so booking a table is advised. Just give them a call on 01225722287.
