Bath & Beyond with The Skyline Walk

Regardless of your reason for visiting the UNESCO World Heritage City, Bath’s famous Skyline Walk is certainly considered a must-do highlight if you have the time. In a relatively short distance from the city centre you can enter another world and you make up into the hills of Bath and beyond. Ramble through six miles of wildflower meadows, ancient beech woodlands and secluded valleys, with only the soothing sound of rustling leaves and babbling waters beneath the open skies above.

From your new elevated position you will catch many new perspectives on the historic city nestled below and the Blackdown Hills beyond, as you indulge your senses in the natural perfumes of this splendid rural haven. This country route crosses through a number of archaeological sites, including Roman settlements and eighteenth-century follies such as Sham Castle, as well as an Iron Age fort on Little Solsbury Hill. Midford Castle in the Midford Valley

Back in the eighteenth century Bath’s skyline was a welcome retreat from the society life on the fashionable city, today the route is just as popular with locals and visitors alike.
