Bath Ales began in 1995, brewed from a micro-brewery in Wincanton, Somerset. Demand for Bath Gem quickly spread and as profits grew the brewery bought its own pub, the Hare on the Hill and moved their production to Bristol. Going from strength-to-strength Bath Ales eventually launched a pub in Bath itself; The Hop Pole is a cosy country-style pub, which opened its doors opposite Royal Victoria Park in 1998. Today, it continues to sell fresh ale along with an array of delicious seasonal dishes, fast becoming a symbol of dedication to quality beer and good living.

This approach led to increasing growth and expansion for the brewery, which continues to experiment the perfect recipes for a wider range of beers. In 2016 Bath Ales began a new chapter, as it was acquired by Cornwall’s St Austell Brewery. Keen to back the newly incorporated brand, the independent family business invested in a new brewery for the team. As of then, Hare Brewery was born, with new and exciting beers to boot.

Combing traditional artisan methods with state-of-the-art technology is no easy feat, but the efforts bring the ability to produce more beer, of a bigger variety in a brand-new Brewhouse. With more than a century of brewing experience across the dedicated team, the new taproom is where passion becomes a strive for perfection. Visitors can now sample a taste of their finest core creations in Warmley, with Gem, Wild Hare, Barnsey and some other new labels available alongside the favourites.
