Into design, art or innovation? Once Britain has reopened for business, then you might want to make time for a visit to The Edge, a creative artists’ hub informed by the context and research of the University of Bath. It offers a space for encouragement and collaboration providing a place where artists, audiences, researchers and academics can seek new perspectives and showcase great ideas. Engineers meet sculptors and architects, together inventing and engineering artworks of scientific complexity.
The Edge offers a varied programme on open events, exhibitions and presentations, from performing arts to community classes, each providing an educational, emotional and intellectual experience for the intrigued visitor. Hosted within a state-of-the-art Edge building which hosts a gallery, theatre and studios, with a communal café/bar. It is described as a destination that ‘promotes the art in science and the science in art’.
Whether you’re passing by on business or taking time for leisure, you are welcome to meet with friends or colleagues over a delicious lunch, maybe coffee and cake in the communal area. It also provides an ideal place to start before an evening performance or exclusive showcase. The ethos of The Edge Arts is to bring the arts together with research and adventure, with the belief that everyone can be creative and contribute.
