The Garrick’s Head pub was the former home of Beau Nash; a grand building located conveniently next to the Bath Theatre Royal, which always makes for an interesting crowd over dinner. The pub was once an inn for actors playing in the neighbouring building and is often frequented by cast and crew alike, so there is plenty of time to eat before a matinee. Open every day from noon onwards, visitors can enjoy lunch or dinner served from the bar, terrace or dining room.

The house ale is exclusively brewed by Danish master brewer Stig Anker Andersen and is available to purchase as a gift beyond the pumps. The Garrick’s Head has a long-held reputation for well-kept ale, but also holds a range of local quality ciders, with a solid wine-list and more than 20 whiskies from which to sample a taste.

You will find a great range of choice across menus, each bursting with fresh, seasonal ingredients from across the South West region. There are both traditional classics and modern British dishes on offer from the bar menu, whilst the pre-theatre and à la carte menus are a nod to fine dining, with all dishes made to order on-site. If visiting in the summer months, punters can also savour the early afternoon or late evening sun on the terrace, while enjoying a bite to eat or a glass of something special.

Booking for the Garrick’s Head is advisable, particularly at weekends and can be reached within a short walk of Tucking Mill’s city centre properties, Hedgemead Court and Old Smithy Lodge. If you’re thinking of booking your next stay in Bath, you may want to take a look at Tucking Mill’s city centre properties, with Hedgemead Court just a short walk up-fill from Bath’s Theatre Royal.
