Many know Bath to be the ideal city break, but have you ever stopped to consider what lies in wait just a minute’s drive from the city boundary? Tucking Mill is a historic hamlet now transformed into lovingly-restored holiday cottages and based in the tranquil Midford Valley, just a five-minute drive from the historic heart of the UNESCO World-Heritage city.
Lockdown may have kept us indoors, but now is the time to escape the everyday and explore the best that the Great British countryside has to offer. You only have to step outside your door at Tucking Mill and you’ll find idyllic country walks and renowned cycle paths await you, there’s even the opportunity for fly-fishing in the garden if such a past-time tickles your fancy.

However, if you’re keen to bathe yourself in nature without leaving the city, that’s an option to, with plenty of green spaces within a short walk of our Hedgemead Park property, located in Bath’s artisan quarter. Take a wander round the beautiful botanical gardens in Royal Victoria Park, or seek out some shade in Sydney Gardens for access on to the Kennet and Avon canal.
If your keen to venture a little further Bath sits right on the edge of the Cotswolds, so if you’re ever tired of the city bustle, there is a wealth to explore across this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Looking a little closer you might want to pick up the Bath Skyline Walk, offering panoramic views of the surrounding country, or take a picnic by the Palladian Bridge at Prior Park.
If you’re a active soul, why not check out the Two Tunnels Greenway which runs from the edge of town out to the perimeter of your luxury accommodation at Tucking Mill.
