Now in its 17th year, the Bath Christmas Market is today the UK’s most popular Christmas market. Featuring over 200 chalets, an addition of 30 more than last year, with 80% coming from Bath and the south west region.

The market has also extended into Southgate Street, Union Street and Hot Bath Street. There’s 60 brand new chalets making their debut, so there’s plenty to explore if you’ve been to the market before, too.

As well as the Christmas Market, throughout November and December visitors to Bath can enjoy special late night shopping, carols by candlelight across the city and lots of street food and artisan market pop-ups. Keeping the buzz of the city going is the Bath On Ice and Glow in the Dark Mini Golf, which starts at its usual setting on Victoria Park from 17 November to 2 January. There’s also the Walcot Street Lantern Procession happening on 26 November.

If a trip into history is more your cup of tea, why not jump on the Victorian Carousel from 14-30 December or pop into the Dickensian Christmas at The Corridor, just by the Guildhall on Bath High Street.

With so much going on, all the hotels and B&Bs are filling up! We only have five gorgeous self-catering properties on offer and they’re the perfect home away from home. Whether it’s a walk around the market and coming back to a comfy sofa, hot cocoa and a traditional wood-burning stove at Brooks’ View in the tranquil hamlet of Tucking Mill, or a venture through the street food markets before retiring to the luxury setting of The Old Smithy Loft 700 yards from town in Sydney Wharf.
