Bath is not only a UNESCO world heritage city, but a place where art, music and literature are celebrated. Every year Bath Festivals host a range of events that help to bring internationally renowned writers, musicians and public speakers to the city to entertain audiences young and old. With a glittering history spanning 70 years, Bath Festivals have helped to put the city on the map as one of the UK’s top festival regions.

Earlier this year The Bath Festival and Finale Weekend brought crowds into the heart of the city with huge success and this creative team are about to do it all again with the Bath Children’s Literature Festival taking place from Friday 27 September – Sunday 6 October. Readings, workshops and talks will take place in a range of venues around the city, ensuring that there is fun and laughter for all the family to enjoy, at Europe’s largest dedicated festival of children’s literature.

Artistic Directors John and Gill McLay are keen to create innovative and diverse programmes that inspire audiences and they’ve managed to secure a world-class line-up to fuel the imaginations of residents and visitors alike. The festival offers children the chance to join in with inspiring activities and meet their literary heroes at the same time. They’ve also established a creative learning programme to help young people and those with little access to the arts, aiming to use creativity as a power for building inner confidence and improved communication.
