Tucking Mill Self-Catering is an award-winning holiday letting company with two contemporary Bath city centre apartments and three luxurious self-catering cottages in the heart of the Midford Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just 12 minutes’ drive from Bath city centre.
We aim to create self-catering holidays with a difference.
That means whether you are enjoying the wildlife, private gardens and your favourite book in the lounge by the wood-burning stove in our country cottages, or relaxing after seeing the best of Bath’s attractions and dining in our popular apartments, we ensure everything is ready for you to enjoy your way. We work hands on behind the scenes to give you a picture-perfect property for when you arrive, leaving you stress free to enjoy the freedom and peace and quiet of a wholly self-catering break.
We’re a young company, established during Christmas 2012, but we have grown in an innovative way to meet high demand. Over the years we’ve expanded to our current portfolio of five properties – all award-winning – and often find our guests are keen to book another stay with us. Our cottages are distinguished by their unique surroundings in the Midford Valley, the home of famous geologist William Smith. They offer a haven of calm, a variety of walking and cycle routes, and two classic British pubs that serve delightful food. There’s also plenty of wildlife to see on your stay and a brook at the end of the garden of Brooks’ View and Fishermen’s Retreat that we own the fishing rights to – perfect for any keen fly-fishermen.
In the city our apartments are defined by their location, just a two minute walk from some of Bath’s finest restaurants, bars and attractions. They both also have free on-site parking, which we would challenge you to find elsewhere!
We took the personal decision this year to work hard to give each of our five properties their own identity. Brooks’ View has become the go-to cottage for romantic breaks; Fishermen’s Retreat is our idea of a walker or cyclist’s perfect wildlife escape; Tucking Mill View offers stunning views and a peaceful retreat for you to combine the best of city and country life; The Old Smithy Loft is a classic modern city centre apartment for sightseers and food lovers; while Hedgemead Court is our newly-renovated, stylish contemporary apartment perfect for flying business visits or premium leisure holidays.
Most of all guests come back to us because we are getting better every day. Tucking Mill Self Catering isn’t a business that stands still, but instead responds to the market and brings a new level of self-catering experience to holidaymakers around the globe.
